Brief Description:


The market for protein/peptide-based therapeutics has become decidedly established in the past decade, although the gastrointestinal tract causes a significant drug-delivery challenge. As a consequence, most protein-based drugs must be delivered intravenously or subcutaneously.


Brown University researchers have established a nanoparticle delivery system contained in a PEG/pluronic F127 matrix. This composition stabilizes these proteins for any route of administration – oral, vaginal, injectable and rectal, as well as inhalation providing numerous new drug delivery solutions for drug makers.
